He is currently a researcher with the MacDonald Franklin Operational Stress Injury Research Centre at the Lawson Health Research Institute (London, Ontario). Before joining the Research Centre, Dr. Nazarov was a defence scientist at Defence Research and Development Canada investigating psychological readiness and mental health in Canadian Armed Forces personnel and civilian populations. Dr. Nazarov completed his Ph.D. in Neuroscience at McMaster University and has expertise in behavioural and neural aspects of social cognition in individuals exposed to psychological trauma. He is interested in using experimental and survey methodologies to explore the interplay between psychological trauma, morality, and well-being. About the MacDonald Franklin OSI Research Centre
Located at the Parkwood Institute (Lawson Health Research Institute) in London, Ontario, the MacDonald/Franklin Operational Stress Injury Research Centre (MFOSIRC) conducts innovative research in military and veteran mental health. The Centre’s primary mission is to improve the mental health and well-being of veterans with OSIs through clinical and neuroscience research. The Research Centre collaborates directly with the Operational Stress Injury Clinic (OSI Clinic) at Parkwood Institute, which provides specialized services to those experiencing mental health challenges as a result of their operational service. The MacDonald/Franklin OSI Research Centre is a catalyst and enabler for the adoption of increasingly specialized and evidence-based pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy. Priorities for the Centre include research on treatment outcomes, suicide risk behaviour, and neurobiology of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
